Psalm 1:1-3
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree, planted streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not whither. Whatever he does prospers."

2 Timothy 3:16-17

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Micah 6:8

"He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Colossians 1:15-20

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together, and He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood shed on the cross."

Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied: '"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Psalm 73:21-24

When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered.

I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.

Yet I am always with you; You hold my by my right hand.

You guide me by Your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.

Romans 3:23-24

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

And are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Psalm 23:1-3

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

A few verses

All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training is righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Micah 6:8 He has show you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

This week I'll work on Matthew 22:37-40. I knew it once but it definitely needs some work.

John 14:16

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:16

Matthew 5:44

But I (Jesus) tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Ecclesiastes 4:12

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Romans 5:18-19

Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.

For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one Man the many will be made righteous.

Joshua 1:8-9

Do not let the Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Welcome Cornerstone Sunday School Families!

You have stumbled upon our super cool verse memorization tracker! This is a site dedicated to encouraging our Sunday School adults and older kids/teens to memorize verses this year. You can choose to stay on track with what we are memorizing in Sunday School, or you may choose to go your own way, memorizing verses that are especially impactful to you and your family, or perhaps you are part of Awanas or another Bible Study that is memorizing verses. Any of these things count!!

It is quite simple to start... here are the steps (kids, be sure to get your parent's permission first)...

1. Send me an email rjglover @ verizon . net (remove the spaces!) with your email address. I will then send you an email invitation to be an "author" of the blog. Family members can share the same ID and password... just be sure to sign your name at the bottom of your post so you get credit for your memorization!!
2. Respond to the email by clicking the link and either (1) sign in with an existing google account, or (2) set up a google account - just a simple username and password. Voila! You are an author!
3. Go to this blog site and sign in (top right). Your first post should just be a quick hello, letting all of us know you are on the track to do some memory work this year.
4. and type what you know. If you are too young to type, ask your mom or dad to help.
5. For every verse memorized and recorded on the blog, your name goes into a jar. The more verses you memorize, the more times your name gets put in that jar. The more times your name is in the jar, the more likely you are to win. Twice during the year we will draw a name from that jar for a way-awesome prize.

There is no time like the present, so send me that email and GET STARTED!
